ABOUT THE ROLE

To be responsible for day-to-day management, preparation and service of food, ensuring that the highest standards are always maintained to the standards required by the hotel. To ensure that strict hygiene controls are kept in all Kitchen areas. To ensure the smooth running of the food operation including the maintenance and cleaning of the fabric of the kitchen. To make sure all costs are in line with budget. To work closely with the Director of Food & Beverage on menu, service and concept development to create strong identities for each outlet across the division.

ABOUT YOU

• Previous luxury hospitality and culinary experience as reputable Executive Chef
• High level of professional/industry standing to act as a professional partner/give professional opinion to our two partner chefs (Tom Kerridge and Francesco Mazzei)
• Confidence to present to the public (in person and on television for renowned culinary programmes and competitions), press and to colleagues as the face of culinary at Corinthia London
• Extensive knowledge of culinary concepts with demonstrable skills in “of the moment” ideas
• Demonstrate excellence in these areas – Menu creation, kitchen cost controlling, food safety management, team leadership, coaching and training skills, excellent cookery skill throughout all departments, seasonality and provenance of food and dietary and allergens
• Excellent leadership and team building skills
• Experience in recruitment and conducting team appraisals
• Experience of rostering and holiday planning
• Departmental train the trainer skills
• Problem-solving skills
• Excellent decision skills
• Excellent coaching and counselling ability
• Excellent administration skills
• Excellent knowledge of international cuisines
• Experience of with working to a financial budget and meeting company targets
• Professional communication and interpersonal skills, always being a company brand ambassador

• Good level of written and spoken English
